Art Museums that are not the Smithsonian or National Gallery of Art
and yes, you can go for free
Culture House is open on the weekend. The gallery features stunning art works, I’ve always enjoyed every exhibit I have scene.
The Kreeger Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday with a suggested donation of $10. This hidden gem of an art museum in D.C. is not well known, but houses a large amount of artwork from predominately the 1850's to the present.
The Phillips Collection is America’s first modern art museum. They also have extended free hours on the third Thursday of the month.
It’s always a pleasure to explore the murals and exhibits at Dupont Underground.
The Glenstone Museum is very difficult to get tickets. However, they are always free and released on the first of the month at 10:00am for 3 months in the future (okay January 2021!) The Glenstone is not only home to masterpieces of some of the greatest modern artists, but also just an amazing architectural and nature oasis.
