Parks & Trails in Washington, DC

  1. In Rock Creek Park, you can create hikes in varying lengths from 1-10 miles using two of the major trails, there's an infinite number of loops possible. (Hikes: Western Ridge Trail, Valley Ridge Trail)

  2. There is a trail that runs along Glover Archbold Park that begins at Van Ness Street and ending at the Foundry Branch Park Trail in Georgetown. (2.5 miles)

  3. Battery Kemble trail connects Nebrasksa Ave. to the C&O Canal (1.2 miles)

  4. Dumbarton Oaks Park is easily my favorite place to escape everyone in the city and a path that includes the Whitehaven trail connects from Rock Creek Park to Wisconsin Ave., just north of Georgetown. (0.9 miles)

  5. There's a continuous 20-mile trail on both sides of the Anacostia River--there are various segments you can walk of the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.

  6. Soapstone Valley trail connects a wide segment of Rock Creek Park and Albemarle Street NW near Connecticut Ave. It may closed though due to a sewer rehabilitation project taking place Winter 2021 – 2022.

  7. Kenilworth Gardens is most known for lotuses in the summer, but in the fall the views are beautiful with the sky reflecting off the ponds and wetlands. There's a loop around the National Park (2.9 miles)

  8. Kingman and Heritage Islands Park are man-made islands on the east of the city that include some great bike trails (1.5 miles)
